Some projects take you somewhere unexpected. Our curated collaboration with Ultima Antarctic Expeditions did exactly that — bringing Wren's signature ProtectPaper® craft to one of the most remote and extraordinary places on the planet.

Ultima Antarctic Expeditions has spent 13 years taking adventurers to one of the most extraordinary places on earth. Flying from their base in Cape Town, they offer fully customised polar expeditions to Antarctica, a continent of massive glaciers, ice caves, howling blizzards, and a silence so complete it stays with you long after you return.
This curated collaboration came to us through Imke and Jess at Altitude Hospitality Consultants, who coordinate and manage experiences for some of the most exceptional hospitality brands on the continent, and beyond. When they came to meet Wendren, the connection was immediate. Two people as passionate about what they do as we are about what we make.

Listening to them talk about Antarctica, how cold it is, how stark and still the landscape is, the quiet that sits over everything, the extraordinary logistics of feeding and clothing clients in one of the world's most remote environments, we understood quickly that Ultima doesn't just operate expeditions. They embody the experience entirely.
Our first piece was a travel organiser for Ultima's clients, a single-colour screenprint of a penguin and the Ultima logo, turned around quickly to meet a deadline. But the vision was always bigger: a digital print collection using real photography of Antarctica's scenery, giving each client something that carries that landscape with them long after they return home.

That collection is now a reality. Travel organisers printed with photographs of the ice, the mountains, and the vast open quiet of the continent, functional, beautifully made, and carrying a story worth telling for Ultima’s clients.
