There are quite a few South African’s on etsy and I think this is TERRIFIC!

Here are the few that I know about…

CandyDesign is a team of two sisters who create the most beautiful invitations, announcements, greeting cards, stationery, original prints and other pretty gifts. Colleen Roberts from DizzyDezign is also a textile designer by paper and in her shop she sells her designs printed and embroidered on teatowels, cushions, and pillowcases. Heather Moore from Skinnylaminx sells printed brilliantly designed and coloured teatowels, aprons and cushion covers. Freshly Found loves to find vintage or interesting items such as silk suits, pots and pans, baking sheets - you name it, Freshly Found has found it and given it a new and exciting life. Jesse Breytenbach has two etsy shops: Jezzeprints which sells prints of her drawings and comic art and Jezze’s Shop which sells her block-printed cotton tape, knitted and crochet brooches and gorgeous coin purses.

Here is a collection of all my favourite recycled things from etsy.

Clockwise from left to right: 1) The Alexander Mandinka Hand-Bag which is made entirely of reclaimed and recycled men’s suit coat coats. 2) Reiter8 pillow made from recycled sail boat sails! Reiter8 also make fantastic bags so go and check them out. 3) Polka Dot Suede wallet by Nicaeli made from recycled leather. 4) Earrings by Debby Arem made from recycled circuit boards. 5) 2ReVert pendant made from 100% post-consumer recycled skateboard. One side features the skateboard graphics and some usage marks, and the other side shows off the inner coloured layers of the skateboard. I love this! 6) Hand stitched little bird cut from a collection of bird inspired stamps from Cotton Bird Designs paper and fabric aviary.

A few of my favourite ‘blue’ finds on etsy:

From top left in clockwise direction: Framed Pouch with middle divide which I love from Field of Roses. Handbound books/journals from Orangebeautiful (I am saving up for one of these). Print of an original photograph digitally mixed with painting called Fleur Violette by labokoff. Hand twsisted copper wire sitting red fox with bushy tail from Copper Creation. The Adorn Jewelry shop is an absolute treasure find with pendants such as the crow flies. Japanese Aizome print fabric by Karaku. The pattern is the traditional antique design of Japan and is beautiful. I wonder if it is dyed with real indigo??

Wren Shop Twitter

crying-wren44.jpgThe response I have received from my Wren bags has been overwhelming. Thank you to all the people who have hearted my shop or bags, purchased a bag or just visited. I really do appreciate you doing so.

Unfortunately I realize that my overheads are quite a bit higher than I estimated a few months back. This is due to the postage rates going up, the petrol increase and several others as an effect. As a result, I have had to increase my bag prices as well as the postage fee.heart-wren-copy.jpg

I am terribly sorry I have had to do this…but you know how it is….we all have to get by. I am a small company, just started and the last thing I want to do is go bust because I couldn’t do a balance sheet…

I also understand that if you were planning to buy and were saving it now means you have to pay more. Please contact me if this is your story and we can see what we can do so that you get your Wren Bag. I’m always willing to help out fans.

Thank you for all your support and I hope you will continue to support and love Wren.
